Main Point: Love is defined by God, discovered in the gospel, displayed in Jesus, and is developed in God’s people only when they deny self-love.
Love is from God because God is love (7-8).
Love is visible because Jesus rescues (9-10).
Love is perfected in us because we love others (11-12).
Love is in us because we have the Spirit (13-16).
Love gives us confidence because it drives out fear (17-18).
Love in us reflects God’s character (19-21).
